Anxious Mickey Series
Genesis
After creating Anxious Mickey, I wanted to explore another psychological angle through a companion piece. Even though this figure feels like a from-scratch sculpt, it is technically an intervention.
The base body comes from a My Little Pony toy that María Escoté gifted me while I was working on her collaboration with the brand. For the upper part, I used a 4” Munny so the head could articulate in the same way Mickey's does.

I wanted to keep the idea loosely connected to its companion, but from a different emotional register. If Anxious Mickey dealt with fear and tension, this figure would approach the opposite manic energy pushed to its limit.

Process
I fused both canvas figures so the proportions matched what I envisioned for Pluto. That small shift in structure was enough to push the silhouette closer to the character while still preserving the toy origins underneath.

For the head, I deliberately leaned into a more exaggerated, unrestrained expression. The result is a Pluto that looks stretched, wired and on the edge, which created a strong contrast with the stillness of the body.
Outcome
Manic Pluto was conceived with the idea of eventually developing a limited edition, but my artistic direction shifted toward other projects and the piece remained as a single handmade sculpture.
