Gainz
Animated Series Character
Genesis

Eddie Alcazar, film director and screenwriter, contacted me while producing a new animated series called Gainz, inspired by the style of Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ren & Stimpy and the classic era of Nickelodeon. He wanted an Art Toy of the main character in its natural environment: sitting in the living room, playing video games and eating Scrittos.

To make it work physically, I had to design the armature so the figure could later be attached to the coach securely, keeping the movement while ensuring stability.

Process

The character itself is very exaggerated and energetic. So I drew a sketch where the character appears jumping off the coach with its tongue out in a very dynamic pose.

The process for the coach differed from my previous work because its unconventional shape required a completely new internal wire structure, adapted to its specific volumes and how the character interacts with it.
Outcome

I sent the piece to Eddie and he was really satisfied with the result. Since the series was still in production, the figure had to remain unpublished for a long time. Once the show was released, I was finally able to include it in my portfolio.
