Hello there, it's Luaiso Lopez
I’d like to tell you about the wondrous world that has been rising almost by itself throughout my life.
It all began when I was a kid. Because of some (actually several) struggles I went through in my early years, I started to escape into my inner space. With the characteristic creativity of a child, I immersed myself in imaginary places, stories, and characters, fueled by my love for books, animated films, toys, and video games.
In the following years, that inner universe began to appear in the real world through drawings. It happened naturally, not just for the joy it brought me, but from a need for expression. After finishing school, I decided to boost that creative impulse and studied graphic design, which led me to become an illustrator.
Besides that, I’ve always enjoyed crafting and customising everything that fell into my hands (to my parents’ annoyance), so at some point the two-dimensional drawings asked for volume and three-dimensional spatiality. My imaginary was demanding a physical presence in the real world. One day I tried modeling polymer clay, just for fun, and there was no going back.
Along the way I’ve met many people moved by the same passion; they’ve inspired me in ways I can hardly describe. I grew, I refined my skills, and almost without noticing, this universe kept expanding around me.
Now I create out of the sheer need to express, for the people who are touched and inspired by my work, and mostly for the very joy it keeps bringing me.
BIO
Luaiso Lopez (Spain) is an artist and designer known for his sculptural work that bridges pop culture and contemporary art.
His practice blends craft, design, and narrative, often reinterpreting familiar icons through a personal and evolving visual language. His aesthetics are defined by clean volumes, solid proportions, and vibrant color palettes that make his pieces feel alive.
After studying graphic design, he developed a career as an illustrator and modeler. He has collaborated with international brands, manufacturers and art collectives such as Playboy, ZCWO, and V Collective, and teaches Art Toy Creation at Domestika.
His work, collected by private collectors around the world, has been exhibited internationally, including shows in New York, Shanghai and London such as Open File and Toycon.
